Supervision & Consultation

Rising Lotus provides a range of supportive services for mental health professionals. We offer licensure Supervision for both Registered Social Work Interns (LCSW) and Registered Mental Health Counseling Interns (LMHC), as well as Consultation for those seeking the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. In addition, Group Consultation provides a professional setting among peers for diverse perspectives on clinical issues.

LCSW and LMHC Clinical Supervision

Tara McDonnell, LCSW, RPT-S is a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Social Work Interns and Jillian Lepera, LMHC, DBT-C, is a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns in Florida. The process of Supervision is required for licensure but is also a critical component of professional development for therapists. Our supervisors provide expertise from years of practice as well as a supportive and nurturing space for Registered Interns to deepen understanding of their work, gain new perspectives and understanding of therapeutic relationships, and solidify a strong foundation for future practice.

Registered Play Therapist Consultation

As a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), Tara McDonnell, LCSW, is qualified to provide Consultation for Therapists and School-Based Therapists working toward their Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. Play Therapy Consultation is a required component of the 3-phase process of RPT credentialing. In this reflective and process, Tara provides consultation in all elements of Play Therapy training including History and Theories, Skills and Methods and Special Topics in Play Therapy.

Tara is the Chairperson for the Southeast Chapter for the Association for Play Therapy and is also active with the International Consortium of Play Therapy Associations.

Group Consultation

Group Consultation is offered both in conjunction with and independent of Individual Supervision. Group Consultation is an opportunity to collaborate with peers to grow your clinical knowledge and apply diverse perspectives to your work with clients. Support of peers can be an invaluable aspect of clinical practice through a platform to discuss cases, exchange ideas and foster a sense of community. Developing professional relationships also helps to expand your network and provide additional resources to clients and their families.
